Garbhashaya Gata Vasti

In this, the site of administration of Basti medicine is Uterus (Garbhashaya) and the Basti is given through the vaginal orifice. This Basti helps in expelling the morbid Doshas from the Garbhashaya or Uterus. This Basti helps in eradicating the morbidity and diseases related to the female uro-genital system.

Mutrashaya Gata Vasti

In this, the site of administration of Basti medicine is Mutrashaya (Urinary Bladder) and the Basti is given through the Mutra Marga or Urethra (the opening of the lower end of the muscular tube which is connected to the lower opening of Urinary Bladder and excretes the urine). This is given through the urinary passage or urethra in both men and women. This helps in curing the diseases related to urinary system and genital system.


Introduction

  • Uttara basti is the most effective treatment in gynaecological disorders.
  • It can be given between the 4th 5th 6th 7th day of the menses. But in case of severity of the disease this treatment can be given at any time.
  • In UttarBasti therapy medicated oil or herbal decoctions are introduced into the intrauterine cavity or up to the cervix
  • UB therapy is not painful. The duration of the therapy depends on the seriousness of the disease.
  • It is strictly advised that UB therapy is performed by experienced Ayurvedic practitioners.
  • In UB therapy an expert uses sterilized medicine hence there are no chances of getting infected.
  • This being a day care treatment, a person patient can continue working the same day. However, complete treatment requires few sittings according to the health and it is advised to be followed all the precautions and procedures as advised by the expert.
